This post presents a newly published page on this site outlining our heraldry, with some images from late medieval times to 2014. The new page, including a 24 page pamphlet, tells the story.
When the west Clare scribe, Hugh MacCurtin published his Brief Discourse on The Antiquity of Ireland (Dublin, 1717) he started a discussion which resonated through many historical difficulties, leading to the Irish cultural-revival of the late 1800’s.
The Heraldry document, which may be downloaded, can also be accessed from the pull-down menu. The story includes English, French, Gaelic and Latin references which provided many interesting discussions.
